UPN "Veteran" Jakarta won second place in the English Speech Contest at the Asean level of Higher Education. This activity was organized by Fatoni University at the Pattani campus, Thailand on 6 and 7 February 2015 some time ago.

In the contest UPN "Veteran" Jakarta was represented by Raden Ajeng Geas Prisalsabil, a D.III Accounting Study Program student at the Faculty of Economics as a participant and accompanied by Khoirur Rizal Lutfi, SH, MH as a Supervisor.

Khoirur said that this contest was intended as a preparation for facing the Asean Economic Community and it was hoped that students would contribute ideas and thoughts in dealing with the problems of the Asean Economic Community .

Khoirur further explained that this contest is a competition whose components are assessed based on performance, material content and timeliness. The assessment process was carried out through several sessions, the first session of Geas Prisaslsabil got the highest score, but the final round and question session were a little less prepared, due to the lack of outreach from the organizing committee to the participants.

"Overall, this result is quite satisfying because UPN "Veteran" Jakarta is participating in the contest for the first time at Fatoni University and as the first rank was won by the host participant, he said.

To the University, Khoirur added that they should form a community of UPNV Jakarta students who are concerned about preparing themselves to become ambassadors in national and international competition events as well as conducting ongoing training and mentoring.
