HumasUPNVJ - There are many things that can be done in the midst of a pandemic like this, one of which is trying new things beyond the usual things. One of them is what was done by a student at the Faculty of Medicine UPN Veterans Jakarta Class of 2018, Reycha Nabila Oktaviana. He took part in the Model United Nation (MUN) competition organized by the Global Millennial Group.

The Global Millennial Group is an international start-up engaged in soft skill development through the Model United Nation (MUN) competition. MUN is a debate competition event by adapting a world diplomat conference simulation held by the United Nations (UN). MUN is usually attended by students majoring in international relations, but Reycha tried to challenge myself to prove my skills in English, public speaking, critical thinking, research, and diplomacy. MUN participants act as diplomats representing a country that is part of an international organization, in this case I got the draw of the Delegate of the Republic of Cuba at the International Labor Organization (ILO) , then discussed a global issue topic and diplomatically looked for a solution to overcome it by producing a draft resolution. This time, GM MUN 4.0 raised the global issue "Child Labor: Social Protection from Exploitation."

The selection process for the Global Millennial Model United Nation 4.0 (GM MUN 4.0) starts with filling out the registration form , receiving a Letter of Acceptance (LoA), writing a Position Paper, Opening ceremony, 1st day conference, 2nd day conference, and closing ceremony. LoA received on 9 February 2021. Position Paper must be sent by all participants no later than 18 February 2021.

The opening ceremony and the first day of the conference will be held on 20 February 2021 at 09.00 - 17.00 WIB GMT +UTC 7. The second day of the conference and closing ceremony will be held on 21 February 2021 at 09.30 - 21.00 WIB GMT +UTC 7. On the second day of the conference, I together with other participants (who also acted as diplomats) formulated a draft resolution which eventually won a vote in the committee session.

The award was quite encouraging because this competition was attended by participants from all over the world, the award winners were various, not only participants from Indonesia.
