HumasUPNVJ - The Moot Court Unit Team (UPS) of the Faculty of Law (FH) UPN Veteran Jakarta won 3rd place in the " National Moot Court Competition Anti Money Laundering VI " held by the Moot Court Community, Trisakti University Faculty of Law some time ago online.
It should be noted, this activity was attended by 9 Universities throughout Indonesia, including 7 Universities as Delegates namely UPN Veterans Jakarta, Pasundan University, Diponegoro University, Atma Jaya Indonesian Catholic University, North Sumatra University, Semarang State University, and Sultan Agung Islamic University. In addition, this activity was also attended by 2 Universities as Observers namely Al-Azhar Indonesia University and Hasanudin University.
The UPNVJ UPS team itself consists of 18 students and 1 assistant including Mohammad Aldi Aliansyah, Nuraini, Khairul Rizky, Doni Herlambang Nanda Kuswoyo, Safira Tasya, Alicia Muslimah, Anisa Khairunisa, Lutfiah Nur Zahra, Jessica Nathanael Simbolon, Rizky Willy Kurniawan, Sherly Angelina, Amodra Mahardika Putra Widianto, Najla Putri Virdiansyah, Rahmat Darmaraga, Elvina Gabriella, Regentio Candrika Komala Dewa, Mita Nurasiah, Aqilla Astri and Heru Sugiyono, SH, MH as Associate Lecturers.
In its implementation, Aldi Aliansyah, who is usually called, who is also the general chairman of UPS UPNVJ, said that he and his team faced many obstacles, especially in the current pandemic situation where it was difficult for him and his team to determine the time and place to conduct face-to-face simulations.
"The obstacles we face are the difficulty of carrying out joint filings due to the pandemic and the difficulty of obtaining permission to practice face-to-face trial simulations," Aldi explained in his online interview with the UPNVJ public relations team.
Even though Aldi and his team had problems in the process of this competition, however, a lot of support from various parties was given for the success of Aldi and his team.
"UPN provided support to us in the form of funding and also extraordinary support directly from the rectorate and dean from the simulation to the judging session by the jury, thus creating more enthusiasm for me and the team running the competition," added Aldi.
The winner announcement was announced on March 2, 2021 at the same time as the closing ceremony. In the final round, UPN Veteran Jakarta Faculty of Law UPS students competed with delegates from the Law Faculty of Diponegoro University, Semarang State University, and Atmajaya University Jakarta. And in the end UPS Faculty of Law UPN Veteran Jakarta won 3rd place in this prestigious event.
According to Aldi, he and his team experienced many benefits, especially in the academic field. According to him, this competition requires high-level analysis of the settlement of legal cases and requires very good teamwork.
"By participating in this competition, of course, the participants really understand the settlement of a case, especially criminal cases. Cases in this competition are Corruption, Money Laundering, and Prostitution. With so many case themes, of course, the participants' thinking development was far superior compared to other students who did not take part in the competition. In addition, relations with other universities on a national scale are formed with this competition, "explained Aldi.
Aldi representing his team also hopes that UPS FH UPNVJ can continue to participate in competitions at both the national and international levels and can also make UPN Veteran Jakarta proud.
"I also hope that with this achievement the law faculty students will have an interest in being able to join UPS FH UPNVJ and be part of the competitions participated in by UPS FH UPNVJ. We also have great hopes for the university to always provide full support to us. My message especially to fellow students is that as long as you are a student, try to be a superior and productive student, to be a student who has the desire to make UPN Veteran Jakarta proud, that way you will develop the abilities that are within each of us, "Aldi said.
