HumasUPNVJ - The UPN Veterans Jakarta (UPNVJ) Karate Contingent won 7 medals in the 2022 Widya Mwat Yasa National Student Sports, Arts and Scientific Week (PORSIMNAS WIMAYA) which is a collaborative event for several state universities in Indonesia.

Based on the monitoring of the UPNVJ Public Relations team, the Karate contingent of 6 students managed to bring home 1 Gold Medal, 5 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal in the Karate match against UPN Veterans East Java and UPN Veterans Yogyakarta at the Faculty of Economics and Business Building, UPN Veterans East Java, on Sunday (17/7/22).

Mardyanto, who is the Karate coach, said that the preparations made were quite short for this match. However, this can be a motivation for the next event to be better prepared.

"Because of the limited time to meet, we are indeed tight in preparation, if it takes longer in preparation and training, I'm sure the results will be even better, but it's okay to be a motivation for us and the other contingents," said Mardyanto.

Based on the final results, the student on behalf of Leonardo Andreas Batubara from the Faculty of Law received a Gold Medal in the 67Kg male individual Kumite category.

Kanaya Aisha Qur'ani Koraag from the International Relations Study Program received 2 Medals from the Kumite category -61kg Women's Silver Medal and the Women's Individual Kata category the Bronze Medal. In addition, students on behalf of RM Athlon Fajar Nusantara from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program managed to bring home the Silver Medal in the Men's -60kg Kumite category.

Adythia bradley from the Communication Studies Program won a Silver Medal in the 75Kg Men's Individual Kumite category. Then in the Men's and Women's Team categories, they each won a Silver Medal.
