UPNVJ Increasingly Committed to Carrying Out the Trust to Defend the Country at the Age of 45

HumasUPNVJ - Chancellor of the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) Dr. Anter Venus, MA Comm stated that the campus is committed to carrying out the mandate of instilling the values of State Defense in accordance with the developments and demands of the times and in various perspectives.

"As a campus entrusted with the inculcation of State Defense values, UPNVJ is committed to continuing to maintain and developing the implementation of State Defense that is innovative and more relevant to the demands of the times," said the Chancellor in his remarks at the University Open Session in the context of UPNVJ's 45th Anniversary which was held in Unity in Diversity Auditorium, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, Jakarta, Wednesday (30/11/2022).

The Chancellor said UPNVJ had taken important steps to implement the values of Defending the Country. These steps include making a State Defense reference book that is more up-to-date and does not use a military approach, constructing and measuring the State Defense index, organizing early State Defense education for employees, and others.

Standing with the spirit of fulfilling independence through efforts to educate the nation's life, the Chancellor said that UPNVJ continues to experience significant development and progress so that it becomes one of the state universities that is most attractive to prospective students. UPNVJ students come from all provinces in Indonesia and are in ninth position in the top 10 nationally for both the social sciences and humanities as well as science and technology.

"With the quality of student input like that, it is the responsibility of managers and educators to really and seriously improve the quality of learning and all aspects of education management. It is our responsibility to continue to develop curricula that are relevant to the development of digital technology and the industrial revolution 4.0 phenomenon, including the demands of the profile and qualifications of the 21st century workforce," he said.

Therefore, from an institutional aspect, UPNVJ continues to work on improving the accreditation of existing study programs. Not only national accreditation, study programs at UPNVJ are also encouraged to get international accreditation. Apart from that, UPNVJ also continues to develop new study programs, both for undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees.

In the field of human resources for lecturers, currently UPNVJ has 126 lecturers with doctoral qualifications and will continue to increase in line with the lecturers who are still pursuing their Doctoral degrees.

"The number of lecturers with doctoral qualifications will continue to be increased so that it reaches at least 50 percent of the number of existing lecturers," he said.

As an internal scientific publication channel, UPNVJ also encourages each study program to have a scientific journal. In 2023 it is targeted that all study programs will have journals, and in 2024 all of them are targeted to be accredited by Sinta. Meanwhile, journals that have been accredited by Sinta 2 will also be upgraded to get international accreditation.

"For all these achievements, we thank all the academic community, especially those who work beyond their obligations, who work with all totality, selflessly to advance UPNVJ, whose presence is an added value, whose presence on campus is used to discuss ideas. advance the campus," said the Chancellor.
