HumasUPNVJ - The flash floods that occurred early last year became an inevitable disaster for areas in Jabodetabek and especially several areas in Lebak district, Banten province. Banten province, Lebak sub-district is a fostered village of the Jakarta Vetaran National Development University.
The UPNVJ volunteer team consisting of Ikhsan Amar (Head of Community Service Center) and his team, lecturers and student representatives, including Iin Fatmawati (S1 Lecturer in Nutrition Science), Ilham Wibowo (LPPM) and students from Girgahana Andika (Fikes) and Julia Rahman (undergraduate student of nutrition) and Mulyadi, coordinated directly by the Rector of UPNVJ, collected assistance in the form of logistics for food, clothing and hygiene needs for flood victims, totaling approximately 25 families. Logistics distribution for flood victims was carried out on January 14 2020 at 13.25 WIB.
Ikhsan Amar as Head of LPPM Center explained the chronology of the UPNVJ volunteer team heading to the flood location, "At 17.00 the team arrived at the location of the aid post, namely the Pajagan village office where previously the village head and village secretary had been waiting for our arrival. At 17.15 we immediately inspected the location of the flash flood in the tiled village, and were also accompanied by Mr. Dudung as the head of Pajagan village. At 19.30 the team symbolically handed over assistance to the flood victims in the form of groceries, cleaning supplies and special clothing for elementary school children.
"I hope that in the future Lebak residents will be better prepared to face various kinds of natural disaster threats, starting from early preparedness in dealing with disasters, and participation in disaster socialization activities so that they can minimize losses and casualties. I hope the residents can also be patient in facing a disaster like this.” he said
