Remembering the Service of Heroes in Education, the Chancellor of UPNVJ Makes a Pilgrimage to the Heroes' Cemetery

HumasUPNVJ - In commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17 2022, the Chancellor and university leaders along with twenty student representatives made a pilgrimage to the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP). (9/10)

This visit is a visit to give a sign of respect and appreciation to the heroes who have preceded especially heroes in the field of Education.

The event began with a brief explanation about TMP Kalibata by the lead guide, Ali Mualif, "As you and your fellow students know, Kalibata Main National Heroes Cemetery or TMPN Utama Kalibata is the name of a cemetery located in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta. During its journey, the Kalibata TMP turned into the National Heroes Cemetery (TMPN) with the approval of President Soeharto. The Kalibata TMPN has been expanded to 25 hectares with a total of 10,225 graves," he explained

Before visiting several graves of heroes, especially in the field of education, Prof. Erna, the Chancellor of UPNVJ advised in his remarks that the pilgrimage to TMP is a routine activity that must be carried out by UPNVJ academics especially to commemorate national holidays, "Pilgrimage activities like this are indeed routine activities that we always do and have become -things we have to do as UPNVJ academics. This activity aims so that all of us, especially the UPNVJ students, always remember the services of the heroes, especially the heroes of Education," concluded the Chancellor.

This activity was followed by laying flowers, visiting the graves of several heroes of Education and state officials and then closing with a procession of honoring the heroes of the past.
