HumasUPNVJ - The Republic of Indonesia Veterans Legion (LVRI) gave appreciation for the awarding of the LVRI Star to three Chancellors of UPN Veterans throughout Indonesia, including the Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta, Chancellor of UPN Veterans East Java, Chancellor of UPN Veterans Yogyakarta and the late Prof. Bambang Soeroto as the first Chancellor of UPN Veteran as well as the Founder of UPN Veteran represented by the son of the deceased, Bambang Wicaksono. The LVRI Star award was held in the UPNJT Joint Hall which was attended by guests of honor, namely the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, who today was represented by the Director General Pothan Kemhan, Major General Dadang Hendrayuda, Governor of East Java, represented by Assistant I Benny Sampirwanto, Military Commander V Brawijaya, Major General TNI Nurchahyanto, M.Sc. East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol. Dr. Nico Afinta, SIK, SH, MH, East Java High Court, Dr. Mia Amiati, SH, MH, the management of the Panca Marga Youth Center, members of the Veterans and several other invited guests. (10/8)
In his remarks, Dadang Hendrayuda, the Director General of Pothan, the Ministry of Defense, representing the Minister of Defense, said that with the presence of former veterans, Indonesia could feel the independence it is today, "The commemoration of National Veterans Day is none other than to commemorate the ceasefire on August 10, 1095. Without the struggle of the NKRI veterans there would be no existence and we as the next generation would also not be standing here," he said
Prof. Fauzi, the Chancellor of UPNVJT is committed to representing the other two UPNs to guard the aspirations of former veterans, namely to educate the nation's life, "UPN Veteran as a state defense campus feels called to participate in guarding the ideals of freedom fighters in educating the nation's children, especially UPN Veterans with the motto / sesanti "widya mwat yasa" which means studying knowledge to be devoted to the development of the nation and state," said Prof. Fauzi was full of enthusiasm in his speech
These three UPN Veterans serve as living monuments for veterans, to continue the struggle, to continue the baton of the veterans of the nation's fighters to fill independence which is expected to produce superior generations who are great, disciplined, have the spirit of defending the country, and become full-fledged fighters for independence;
