Public RelationsUPNVJ - A proud achievement came from the students of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta. In the XII Indonesia Paku Bumi Open International tournament in Bandung, the UPNVJ Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit (UKM) contingent succeeded in winning 27 medals.

Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation Dr. Dr. Ria Maria Theresa, SpKJ., MH appreciated the struggle of PSVJ UKM, which had exceeded its medal target.

"Thank God, in this international event PSVJ has won 27 medals. This is the first event they will participate in in 2024," said Ria when met in her office at UPNVJ on Monday (4/2/2024).

"In the previous year, they also gave a lot of medals to UPNVJ. I am very proud of this additional achievement," he continued.

The total number of UPNVJ Pencak Silat medals in this competition consisted of 12 gold, 11 bronze and four silver.

"I am proud that they have also exceeded the target we gave them. Initially we targeted to bring home 20 medals, in fact, thank God, they brought 27 medals," said Ria.

The UPNVJ Pencak Silat contingent went through extraordinary struggles, both before and after the competition. During a series of routine exercises, several students' health deteriorated, but they remained enthusiastic.

"Salute to their struggle. Their enthusiasm is extraordinary even though it is not easy. Some are even battered, but they are still enthusiastic about bringing home medals," said Ria

Not to forget, Ria advised all UPNVJ students to continue learning and achieving with the spirit of doing the best for themselves and UPNVJ.

"Learning is important, achieving is also important, and nothing is impossible if we want to try according to our respective interests. Please develop, please take part in various competitions not only for UPNVJ, but for additional provisions before you enter the world of work," the message.

Finally, Ria hopes that the UKM PSVJ struggle will have a successor in the future, so that its brilliant achievements will continue to be etched.

"My hope is that even though this year there are many UKM PSVJ students who will graduate, hopefully there will be successors. Hopefully more new students will be interested in UKM PSVJ. I also hope that the seniors will be able to continue to guide and develop their younger siblings so that they continue to develop achievement," he concluded.
