The 3rd International Webinar, "Multidisciplinary Approach in Covid-19" was Held by the Faculty of Medicine UPN Veteran Jakarta

Public Relations Team - International Webinar was once again held by the Faculty of Medicine UPN Veteran Jakarta with continuing the collaboration with IDI on Saturday, July 4, 2020. The theme is still the same, "Multidisciplinary Approach in Covid-19". This International Webinar presents competent speakers in their fields, which of course also attended by participants from those who involved in the medical and health sciences and public, with approximately watched by 968 people. Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa, MD, SpJP (K), FIHA, EFMA, FACA, FICA, FASA, SFGISA is still the main speaker and moderator at the International Webinar and indeed accompanied by several other speakers. Here are the list of the speakers :

Same with previous event, on July 4, 2020, Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa began by welcoming the speakers and also the participants who had joined the International Webinar. The event then continued with opening-remarks by Rector of UPNVJ and shortly after followed by the presentation from Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa with the theme "Incidence of Thromboembolic Complication in Patients with Covid 19: Diagnosis & Therapy".

In his presentation this time, Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa conveyed several things related to how the risk of Thrombus can increase Covid-19 virus such as the influence of static, hyperviscosity or blood viscosity, and also endothelial lesions. Besides that Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa also explained several other materials, such as not all Covid-19 patients who died due to Pneumonia are caused Hypoxia, and there are so many patients died (and they) actually did not need a Ventilator, so that it can be strongly suspected that coronavirus also attacks other organs.

The second presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, with a theme "Gastrointestinal Problems in Covid-19". In his explanation, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam represented several things like a deeper explanation about what is Covid-19 and also followed with data of Covid-19 in Indonesia. In addition, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam was agreed with what was presented by Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa that Covid-19 can infect other organs because it does facilitate the virus in the body to proliferate.

In closing of his presentation, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam made a conclusion that "Covid-19 is not only a problem in the lung organs, but it also be able to attack other organs such as liver and even patients can come with diarrhea, hence doctors and nurses must be extra careful".

The third presentation was brought by Prof. Dr. dr. Hasan Machfoed with the theme "Overview of The Neurological Manifestations and Complications of Covid-19". In his presentation, Prof. Dr. dr. Hasan Machfoed conveyed the mechanism by which the Covid-19 virus infiltrated the CNS. Prof. Dr. dr. Hasan Machfoed said, "As we know that the Kidney, Heart and Brain and so on can become the target of the Corona Virus". Besides that Prof. Dr. dr. Hasan Machfoed also conveyed several other things such as Phatogenesis of Corona Virus, Hypoxic Brain Injury, Immune Mediated Injury, and also added some data from WHO related to the symptoms of Covid-19 that were experienced by many people such as symptoms of body heat, fatigue and coughing.

The next speaker in the International Webinar was delivered by Dr. Pukovisa Prawirohardjo with discussed a topic of "Ethics of Fatwa for Telemedicine and Online Consultation Services". In his presentation, Dr. Pukovisa Prawirohardjo delivered positive and negated telemedicine services and online practices in the era of Physical Distancing and also presented fatwas issued by MKEK related to Health Policy and research as well as fatwa about telemedicine services and online consultation. Additionally, Dr. Pukovisa Prawirohardjo conveyed recommendations to online consultation telemedicine services such as improving the quality of services with the collaboration of periodic training for doctors.

The next speaker was Dr. Juris Rits who delivered the theme "Phlebological patients care in Covid-19 Pandemic time". Dr. Juris Rits revealed a number of things such as the Covid-19 patient’s data in Latvia, which 150,837 people had been tested and founded 1,118 was positive with a death rate of 30 people. Dr. Juris Rits said that in Latvia, the Covid-19 pandemic began in March 2020, according to the data that he obtained from the Latvian Centrefor Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC). Besides that Dr. Juris Rits explaining strategy in handling patients by avoiding a direct contact with Covid-19 patients, such as conducting an Online Consultation and only giving a Covid-19 test for people that already over 65 years old.

The next discussion was "The Role of ECMO in The Covid-19" and it was delivered by Prof. Dr. Jose Ignasio Aramendi. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Jose Ignasio Aramendi conveyed the regional ECMO program which held in 2013, ECMO program in 2015-2016 and also ECMO in the current Covid-19 condition. Prof. Dr. Jose Ignasio Aramendi also explained the condition of Covid-19 in Spain that has reached 247,508 positive cases with the death rate reaching 25,100 people. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Jose Ignasio Aramendi explained the possibilities of plans taken such as (increasing) the ICU capacity, human resources both from staff and nurses, and he also mentioned to add more material resources such as ventilators.

The last speaker in this International Webinar was Prof. Dr. med. Dr. Puruhito who carried the theme "Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery in the 19th Covid-19 Pandemic era". Prof. Dr. med. Dr. Puruhito recounted how the efforts of the medical staff in the surgical department in Surabaya in handling patients who will be given surgery. "That is actually the same as what was done in the surgical department to carry out surgery during a pandemic but there are several different standards".

Prof. Dr. med. Dr. Puruhito also explained the purpose of conducting surgery during the Covid-19 pandemic, "The main objective in carrying out surgery is that the team can prevent transmission between patients and health workers and prevent contamination of the environment and surgical instruments".

At the end of the event, it was again closed by Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa. As the moderator and speaker he expressed his gratitude to all participants and speakers for their participation.
