Learning Transformation of University Compulsory Subjects, UPNVJ Holds Debriefing and Consolidation of Pancasila and Citizenship Lecturers

HumasUPNVJ - Approaching the new semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year, UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) is preparing itself with curriculum changes that are relevant to current industrial developments. UPNVJ through the Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LP3M) today, Monday (10/08/20) is holding a Debriefing and Consolidation of Pancasila and Citizenship Lecturers which are Compulsory University Subjects (MKWU). The activity will take place for the next four days from August 10 to August 14 2020 in the UPNVJ Mashclassroom and Integrated Lab.

As we know, the UPNVJ's State Defense identity is the obligation of the university to focus on and increase students' knowledge of Pancasila and citizenship courses with the aim of having students with the character of Defending the Country.

In her remarks, UPNVJ Chancellor Erna Hernawati reminded that the activities held were very important because lecturers had to prepare themselves to improve MKWU learning with distance learning conditions or online.

"Under these conditions we are required to make significant changes to provide learning that is interesting and also relevant and on target even though the implementation is online. Delivering the course will be difficult to reach the target if the interactive process is very limited plus the objective of this course is quite ideal regarding understanding the value of behavior, and understanding defending the country as an identity that must be owned. So what you want to emphasize is the learning method with the suitability of the material with the objectives of the course. We are dealing with the millennial generation, students who have a critical mindset are fully our joint task, especially regarding Pancasila and citizenship courses, preventing them from believing too much in hoax news, related to Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," said the Chancellor.

In line with the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Anter Venus said "I remind you that our campus is a State Defense campus and one aspect of this State Defense is belief in the ideology of Pancasila and Pancasila as the state ideology. We don't just provide lessons but try to make Pancasila and citizenship into characters that are embedded in our shared shoulders," said Venus.

In his report, Aniek Irawati as the Head of the MKWU Center said that the participants who took part in this debriefing totaled 24 people including Pancasila and citizenship lecturers by presenting speakers Prof. Kaelan MS (UGM Professor), Yudhi Latif, P.hD (Book writer and Pancasila and nationality observer) , Police Brigadier General Dr. Drs. Darmawan Sutawijaya, SE, MHum (Director 75 BIN), Dr(Cand) M. Retno Daru Dewi, AMK, S.Psi, M.Sc (BNN RI) and Dr. Khusnul Arifin (Secretary General of ADPK).

Technically, Aniek said that in practice the resource persons are present online while the lecturers must be present in the Integrated Lab and Mashclassroom, this is because the lecturers will also be required to make scientific articles related to this program, updating the Pancasila and citizenship RPS which were in the previous odd semester of 2020/2021 is a stand-alone subject, namely Pancasila 2 credits and Citizenship Education 3 credits," explained Aniek.

Aniek hopes that after participating in the Debriefing and Consolidation of Pancasila and Citizenship Lecturers, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the competence of the participants, especially in the following fields:

a. Increased mastery of material on MKWU Lecture Policy, Learning Methods based on moral development and scientific approach (Scientific Approach), Pancasila as General Education, and the Development of Innovative Learning Methods, and Actual Pancasila and Citizenship Lecture Materials.
