Public Relations UPNVJ – The International Conference on Informatics, Multimedia, Cybernetics and Information Systems or better known as the International Conference of Informatics, Multimedia, Cyber and Information Systems (ICIMCIS) is a leading event within the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta environment. This event was initiated by the Faculty of Computer Science UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (FIK UPNVJ).

This year's ICIMCIS took place over two days starting from 7-8 November, taking place at the Ibis Style Hotel, Simatupang, South Jakarta and also online via Zoom Meeting.

The theme carried at the 5th ICIMCIS is New Paradigm of Digital Transformation, Blockchain, and IoT for society 5.0. This theme is taken to describe support for societal intelligence where technologies such as big data, internet of things (IoT) , AI, and robotics are entering all industrial fields and all segments of life.

As we all know, society 5.0 is a human-centered commodity development concept that balances economic progress and solving social problems by combining virtual space and real space.

Society 5.0 was proposed in the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan as the future society that Japan should aspire to.

Blockchain technology has the potential to address issues regarding data ownership, data integrity, and market monopoly. Public blockchain supports the implementation of the vision of data democracy where everyone has access to various data and there are no gatekeepers who exploit isolated data.

Referring to these conditions, the Chief Executive of the 5th ICIMCIS, Erly Krisnanik, S.Kom., MM said that ICIMCIS was held with the aim of strengthening collaboration and becoming a forum for academics, professionals and researchers in the field of information technology in realizing blockchain, IoT, and society 5.0.

"Therefore, to welcome the era of society 5.0, FIK is holding this international conference. "This conference aims to strengthen collaboration and become a forum for academics, professionals and researchers in the field of information technology in realizing blockchain, IoT and society 5.0." Erly said in his speech.

The UPNVJ Chancellor provided full support for this activity. This is because ICIMCIS is an important effort in advancing UPNVJ's vision and mission to internationalize and create an international scale campus that focuses on providing quality education, developing science, and making positive contributions to society.

“This conference will invite 5 main speakers from 3 countries. The last time we held this conference, the speakers and participants came from various affiliations, such as researchers, lecturers, practitioners, and graduate students. "This conference is part of FIK UPNVJ's efforts in the field of information technology research to gain broad insight into developments domestically and globally." Venus said when opening today's event.

Based on the report submitted by Erly, this year there were 1055 papers submitted to the ICIMCIS conference. In more detail, Erly said that 21 papers were rejected and 1034 papers were accepted. Erly explained that each paper will be reviewed by two or more reviewers.

From these papers, it can be seen that 11 universities from various countries in the world such as Australia, China, the Philippines, Nigeria, Malaysia and Bangladesh submitted papers. From within the country, there were 23 universities that took part in sending papers to this conference.

Apart from that, there are also many partners who support and make this extraordinary event a success. These partners include Bina Nusantara as co - host , Amikom Yogyakarta, UGM, UNSRI, PT Indo lakto, and IEEE Indonesian Section who participated as partners who made this extraordinary event a success.

On this occasion, Erly expressed his hope that next year FIK UPNVJ could hold ICIMCIS for the umpteenth time by presenting all participants directly in one place. He also hopes that this event can become a forum for researchers to produce research based on different international expertise and experiences.

Not only that, through this conference, Venus hopes to create an interactive forum to share and exchange knowledge about current events and the potential for collaborative research in the fields of computer science, engineering, education and health.
