UPNVJ Chancellor Releases Five International KKN Students

HumasUPNVJ – Anter Venus, the Chancellor of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta ( UPNVJ ) officially released students who will take part in the International Community Service Program (KKN) to Malaysia. The release event took place at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus on Thursday, September 26, 2024, and was attended by the Deans and KKN students.

In his speech, Anter Venus emphasized the importance of the KKN experience as a form of community service. "This program not only aims to provide practical experience for students, but also as a means of strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. We hope that students can make a positive contribution to the community there," he said.

"The implementation of KKN allows the growth of partnership synergy from various parties (universities, communities, government, business world, industrial world, and various professional institutions and community organizations) to solve problems in a collaborative, integrated and comprehensive manner by applying the principles of sustainable development. Thus, KKN is also an education for sustainable development activity for the academic community of universities, communities, and all humanity in general. Through this KKN activity, universities are expected to be able to produce graduates who have empathy and care about problems in society and have superior leadership skills," he continued.

"Increasing awareness of national defense within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia, building student networks from all countries with the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Encouraging and spurring development activities in border village communities by fostering the motivation of people in border areas to actively participate in development through community empowerment activities ; and Developing character, character, and soft skills through instilling the spirit and values of leadership, togetherness, independence, communication, work ethic, and responsibility, as well as the ability to solve problems," concluded Venus.

A total of five (5) students from various departments participated in the KKN program which was scheduled to last for one month. They will carry out various activities, including community development, education, and health.

International KKN is important as a form of campus recognition and as a form of university cooperation between countries. The implementation of the Malaysian International KKN will be held for 24 days in Malaysia on September 28, 2024, September 24, 2024 - October 25, 2024.

The following are UPNVJ students who participated in the International KKN, Asiah Azka Syahidah (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences-International Relations), Malin Nur Aeni (Faculty of Health Sciences-Nutrition), Putri Vadilah (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences-Political Science), Nadia Puspita Wijaya (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences-International Relations), and Gherriandi Raja Buana (Faculty of Medicine-Medicine).

The participating students also showed high enthusiasm. The farewell event ended with a joint prayer so that the KKN program would run smoothly and provide benefits for all parties. UPNVJ continues to be committed to preparing students to become agents of change who are able to provide positive impacts in society. (*s)
