UPNVJ Becomes Resource Person for Preparation of FIBAA Visitation of Udayana University

HumasUPNVJ - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) became a resource person for the preparation of the visitation of the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation or FIBAA to Udayana University in Bali. The visitation by FIBAA is an important step in the accreditation process of study programs at a university.

Representatives from UPNVJ regarding this visitation were the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dr. Fitria Ayuningtyas and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Dr. M. Anwar Fathoni.

Preparations for the visitation were carried out at the Bali Dynasty Resort Ballroom in Kuta, Bali, Friday, November 22, 2024. FIBAA at Udayana University involved 14 study programs under the direct command of the Head of LP3M Unud Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D and the head of the LP3M Internationalization team, Ainun Ghurri, Ph.D.

The event was opened by the Chancellor of Udayana University who was represented by the Chairperson of LP3M at exactly 10.00 WITA.

Dr. Anwar said that FIBAA is an international accreditation institution that focuses on higher education in the fields of management and business. Accreditation by FIBAA not only improves the reputation of the institution, but also provides assurance of the quality of education received by students.

FIBAA Standards

According to FIBAA data, accredited institutions show improvements in academic rankings and attractiveness to international students (FIBAA, 2021).

"The visitation process involves a comprehensive evaluation of the curriculum, teaching methods, quality of lecturers, and available facilities. In the context of globalization of higher education, international accreditation is becoming increasingly important," said Dr. Fitria.

Data shows that institutions with international accreditation tend to attract more international students. Preparation for the FIBAA visitation must be carried out thoroughly, including the collection of relevant data and documents, as well as the preparation of an internal evaluation team that will oversee the accreditation process.

In many cases, well-prepared institutions are able to identify their strengths and weaknesses before the accreditation team conducts an evaluation. This allows them to make the necessary improvements to meet FIBAA standards (Smith & Jones, 2020).

Collective Effort

As a first step, institutions need to conduct a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to understand their position in the context of accreditation. Through this analysis, institutions can identify areas that need improvement and formulate strategies to achieve the expected standards.

For example, if the analysis shows that teaching quality is a weakness, the institution can plan a training program for faculty (Anderson, 2019).

Finally, it is important to involve the collective efforts of all stakeholders in this preparation process. From top management to faculty and students, all parties must be committed to achieving the goals of accreditation.

With good collaboration, institutions will be better prepared for FIBAA visitation and increase their chances of obtaining the desired accreditation.
