UPNVJ Shipbuilding Engineering Study Program Accreditation Improvement

HumasUPNVJ – Marine Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Jakarta Veterans National Development University On Friday, June 28, 2021 held an online event together with the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN PT) in order to improve accreditation in the Naval Architecture Study Program.

This activity presented the BAN PT Assessor team, namely Prof. Ir. Acmad Zubaydi M.Eng, Ph.D and Dr. Daeng Paroka, ST. MT.

The Chancellor of UPNVJ, Erna Hernawati in her remarks thanked the assessor team from BAN PT who had taken the time to be able to join this event, she also said that with an increase in state status, namely by developing UPNVJ to add government programs, one of which was improvement of Human Resources, "Our Marine Engineering Study Program has received a very qualified doctor, hopefully we can develop shipping engineering into a superior study program." he said

"Apart from that, technology is an obligation, now we must continue to build an integrated information system and also improve existing infrastructure. Moreover, there have been many improvements from our university, including our UTBK score ranking in the 10 best from the UTBK-SBMPTN science group in 2020 with a score of 585.77. We hope to be able to make changes quickly and of course really need support from all parties. Having asset resources and human resources who have the ability to increase institutional independence, I congratulate the team that is part of it for being able to provide the best for the faculty and university.” Erna continued

UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering Dean, Dr. Ir Reda Rizal, M.Si who participated in the event also conveyed the Vision and Mission and development plans of the Faculty of Engineering. Re -orientation of international standard curriculum development, Strengthening and Enrichment of Learning Outcomes with a Global Perspective and strengthening of cooperation networks with various industry associations, associations of technical experts, professional associations, study program associations, Industrial Engineering (BKSTI), Mechanical Engineering (BKSTM), Electrical Engineering ( Fortei), Marine Engineering (IMO) which is the contents of the development plan from FT UPNVJ.

In this activity, Prof. Ir. Achmad Zubaydi M.Eng, Ph.d and Dr. Daeng Paroka, ST.MT as the assessor team from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN PT) asked about what kind of targets and analysis were expected by the Faculty of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding Engineering. He also gave advice to the Faculty of Engineering so that the Vision and Mission between the University and also the Faculty must be of the same mind, in order to achieve the best goals. In addition, he also said that it was necessary to hold discussions related to existing data.

Wiwin Sulistyawati as the Head of the Marine Engineering Study Program also said, "Regarding the evaluation of learning it will be handled by the evaluation monitoring team and study programs, while when carrying out the initial planning it is based on the academic calendar". he said

The event which was held offline and online was also attended by 13 representatives from the Faculty of Engineering UPN Veterans Jakarta and also other support teams.

The conclusion that was obtained in this activity was that there should be improvement in the data owned by the Faculty of Naval Architecture, so that in the future it does not become a mis- coordination and the information obtained can be properly reviewed.
