UPNVJ Chancellor for the 2011-2014 Period Dr. Koesnadi Kardi Passes Away

HumasUPNVJ - Sad news came from the extended family of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta. UPNVJ Chancellor for the 2011-2024 Period, Air Marshal (Ret.) Dr. Koesnadi Kardi, M.Sc, RCDS passed away at the age of 74.

Dr. Koesnadi Kardi breathed his last at Meilia Hospital, Depok City, West Java, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 19.07 WIB.

The UPNVJ academic community expressed their deepest condolences for the passing of Dr. Koesnadi Kardi.

"He played a role in leading UPNVJ to become a State University," said UPNVJ Chancellor Anter Venus after receiving the sad news.

"He once accompanied Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono when signing the inscription establishing the status of the UPNVJ state in Surabaya," he continued.

During this time, Venus continued, Dr. Koesnadi Kardi always took the time to attend various UPNVJ activities. In this presence, he always provided support and various solution inputs for the progress of UPNVJ.

"As a former rector, he acted Tut Wuri Handayani, namely providing support for various steps of UPNVJ's progress. We have all lost a supportive and appreciative figure," concluded Venus.

Before becoming the rector of UPNV, Dr. Koesnadi Kardi was Deputy Commander of Sesko TNI for one year from 2004 to 2005.

After that, he was trusted to become the Head of the Education and Training Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the 2005-2007 period.

The man born in Tanjung Karang, June 10, 1950, has also held a number of other positions, including:

- Chair of the Center for National Security Studies (CNSS) Study Institute.
- Founder and Chairman of Air Power Center of Indonesia (APCI)
- Founder and president of the Center for Innovation Management & Leadership (CIML)
- President of the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS)
- Defense Management Expert, Ministry of Defense

- Doctorate of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia, Sociology Study Program (Military), 2013
- S2 RCDS, London, United Kingdom, International Studies, 1998
- Master's degree in NPS, Monterey, United States, Management Science, 1990
- FSO (Flying Safety Office) Course, United States, 1985

With his passing, the Chancellor and the UPNVJ academic community pray that the deceased will receive a noble place in the sight of Allah SWT. May all efforts made to advance UPNVJ be recorded as good deeds for the deceased. Amen YRA.
